Why Choose Graepels for Your Exterior Cladding?
Exterior wall cladding transforms the outer surface of a building, providing not only a striking visual identity but also added protection, ventilation, and structural performance. At Graepels, we manufacture architectural metal cladding solutions that balance form and function, with a wide range of customisation options for perforated metal, mesh, and laser-cut designs.
The Benefits of Exterior Cladding
Metal cladding panels offer practical and aesthetic benefits for architectural and industrial projects:
- Weather resistance: Durable against rain, wind, and UV exposure, helping to preserve structural integrity over time.
- Aesthetic versatility: Available in various finishes, colours, and patterns for contemporary or industrial designs.
- Solar shading: Reduces solar gain while allowing filtered daylight, supporting sustainable building practices.
- Ventilation and airflow: Ideal for buildings that need passive ventilation or cooling, including car parks and data centres.
- Security and privacy: Acts as a screen or barrier without completely enclosing a space.
- Lightweight installation: Perforated Metal and Woven Mesh cladding is often lighter than solid wall systems, reducing load and simplifying installation.
- Sustainable materials: Metals like aluminium, stainless steel, and corten are fully recyclable and long-lasting.
What Types of Perforated Metal Sheets Do We Offer?
Our perforated metal sheet services ensure there is the right option for every type of business or application on the market.
Perforated Metal Cladding
Combines architectural impact with practical benefits like solar control, airflow, and visual screening. Ideal for creating patterns and depth in facade design.
Woven Wire Mesh Cladding
Offers transparency, texture, and structural flexibility. Woven mesh is often used in data centres, public buildings, and commercial exteriors for both functional applications and design value.
Laser Cutting Cladding
For intricate patterns and made-to-order designs, laser-cut metal offers precision and creative freedom. Used for light control, privacy screens, and building branding. Visit our laser cut text and decorative pages for inspiration.
Picture Perf Cladding
Ideal for large-scale facades that feature images or branding elements. Picture perf panels allow the integration of graphics into functional architecture with full control over image clarity and visibility.

Key Considerations When Selecting Outdoor Wall Cladding
When planning your cladding system, several considerations will influence material and format:
- Material: Choose a metal that suits the environment and visual intent. For example, corten develops a stable rust-like patina that blends into natural settings, while aluminium can be painted in a range of powder coated RAL colours with a long-lasting finish.
- Sheet Size: Larger sheets create seamless coverage but may require specialist handling and additional cost, standard sheet sizes can result in better outcome and costs.
- Sheet Thickness: Thicker materials are heavier, harder to install and transport and more costly.
- Aperture / Pattern: Consider how much light, air, or visibility is required. Mesh and perforated options can be manufactured to your required open area.
- Functionality: Will the cladding need to act as a sunscreen, a ventilation grille, or a privacy barrier?
- Budget: Material, fabrication complexity, and finishing all affect the overall cost. Talk to us about what’s achievable within your budget.
Industries that Choose Our Exterior Cladding Panels
- Commercial developments use metal cladding to define bold entrances and extend brand identity across façades.
- Residential buildings, especially high-spec urban homes and apartment blocks, benefit from the texture and diversity of patterned aluminium panels.
- Transport infrastructure such as rail stations and airports rely on stainless mesh and perforated panels for both security and airflow.
- Healthcare and education facilities use mesh cladding for passive ventilation and hygiene-friendly surfaces.
- Museums, galleries, and theatres often choose decorative or picture perf panels to integrate art and or historical references.
- Industrial buildings use high tensile mesh or perforated cladding to combine protection with strength and durability.
- Mixed-use developments favour cladding systems that create cohesion across commercial and residential zones.
