Now that the festive season has passed, we can finally unwrap the magic of Loro Piana’s Workshop of Wonders—a breathtaking holiday takeover at Harrods, London.
A Celebration of Craftsmanship
To mark its centennial, luxury brand Loro Piana collaborated with Sculptivate to design and produce a truly stunning holiday installation across Harrods’ iconic façades. This immersive display paid tribute to the brand’s rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship—showcasing the journey of raw fiber as it transforms into exquisite textiles.
With deep expertise in working with Harrods’ distinctive architecture, Sculptivate seamlessly brought this creative vision to life, unraveling the story of a fiber, light as a cloud, evolving into luxurious fabric.
Sculptivates innovative designs were realised with exceptional detail and craftsmanship, ensuring that every element reflected Loro Piana’s commitment to excellence.
The Workshop of Wonders installation beautifully animated the process of textile creation. The mesmerizing façade depicted fibers floating in bales, passing through intricate mechanics, and transforming into fabric—culminating in a breathtaking 17-meter holiday tree, adorned with flowing textiles and festive ornaments.
Graepels’ Contribution to the Vision
Graepels was brought on board by Matter, the technical design and manufacturing team, to produce bespoke metal components for the stunning window displays.
Given the high-end luxury nature of this project, precision and attention to detail were paramount. Working with delicate materials like brass and aluminium required meticulous craftsmanship to ensure flawless execution without compromising their pristine finish.
Graepels expertly manufactured folded brass panels, display brackets, and corner pieces, seamlessly integrating them into the overall design—elevating the installation with both integrating them into the overall design to ensure they fit with the installation refined elegance.
