The Brief
Friary Place was developed by Urban Life Developments Ltd in partnership with Louth County Council, transforming a previously underused site into a modern residential development that contributes positively to Drogheda’s growing urban landscape. Designed as a sustainable and community-focused residential scheme.
As part of the project Mill Lane Apartment Block required an exterior cladding solution that would contribute to the appearance of the new residential development while also supporting practical façade performance. The project called for a bespoke perforated metal system tailored to the scale, shape and architectural intent of the building.

The Solution
Graepels supplied custom perforated metal cladding panels manufactured in 3mm aluminium and formed as raked, tapered and multi-folded sections to suit the design. Working alongside the wider project team, the cladding solution was produced to deliver a strong visual finish while also contributing to ventilation, light control and privacy.
The Outcome
The completed installation helped transform the building into a distinctive residential development with a strong architectural identity. The finished exterior metal cladding system delivered both aesthetic value and practical function, supporting the overall design of the apartment block and contributing to the project’s visual impact.
