Why Choose Stainless Steel Cladding Panels?
Stainless steel is a premium sheet metal cladding material known for strength, performance and appearance. It is commonly used where aesthetics must be matched with resilience, such as public buildings, transport hubs, or commercial interiors. Its high corrosion resistance and ability to retain a clean surface make it especially popular in environments requiring durability with minimal upkeep.
Why Choose Stainless Steel Cladding Over Steel?
Stainless steel offers significantly higher corrosion resistance than mild or galvanised steel, making it the preferred option in exposed, humid or hygiene-critical environments. It maintains its finish without flaking or rusting, requires less maintenance over time, and delivers a consistently cleaner, more polished appearance, making it ideal for architectural and commercial use where durability and aesthetics must go hand in hand.
A Guide to Choosing the Right Stainless Steel Cladding
Selecting the right stainless steel cladding comes down to choosing the format, finish and fabrication that best suits your application.
1. Choose Between Perforated or Mesh Panels
Perforated cladding offers a precise, engineered appearance, often used for facades, column casings or acoustic applications.
Mesh cladding adds texture and transparency, combining strength with a highly contemporary look ideal for public and industrial spaces.
2. Choose the Correct Panel Sheet
Sheet size: Standard panels include 2mx1m, 2.5mx1.25m and 3mx1.5m. We can also manufacture up to 4mx2m and longer lengths by request.
Sheet thickness: Common thicknesses range from 0.75mm to 3mm, with the ability to perforate 25mm thick stainless steel.
How many sheets will you need? This depends on layout, coverage area and fixing strategy. We’ll work with you to ensure accurate quantities.
3. Pick the Right Design for Your Project
Stainless steel offers flexibility for tailored aesthetics and function.
Aperture: Choose from a wide range of perforation sizes (1.5mm to 20mm) with other larger apertures available on request for bespoke pattern.
Percentage open area: Standard tooling allows for 0% to 60% open area (perforation) or 80% if using woven wire mesh . Customisation is possible depending on design and airflow can be increased by forming the panels into 3D shapes.
Picture perf: Incorporate branding, signage or creative imagery into stainless steel facades with our picture perforation service.
4. Consider Any Additional Finishes or Fabrication
Finishing and fabrication elevate stainless steel to suit specific design needs.
Finishes: Choose from brushed, satin, mirrored or bead-blasted finishes, depending on the intended visual outcome and environment.
Fabrication: We offer folding, bolt holing, roll bending, flattening, and more. We support a wide range of project demands.
