I was commissioned by Cork County Council to create a piece of public art for Kinsale Library as the result of an open call for submissions in summer of 2024. In consultation with local historian Barry Moloney, I developed an illustrated triptych depicting elements of Kinsale's history. The open call included technical specifications which I felt warranted a piece rendered using a durable and robust material. Having seen examples of artworks rendered in perforated metal by Graepels around Kinsale and online, I approached them about the feasibility of fabricating a custom illustrated piece. What began as a tentative enquiry in the early stages of drafting the proposal developed into a successful creative collaboration. Gretta Murphy was my main point of contact and was so supportive every step of the way, from that initial enquiry right through to completion and delivery of the project. Developing bespoke 2D artwork for render via pictureperf has been a fascinating journey. The team at Graepels were extremely helpful and generous with their expertise. Graepels created a one-of-a-kind, custom-made sign for our Club, and we'r thrilled with the result. Originally installed on our clubhouse, we’ve since decided to move it to our Main Entrance—it looks fantastic and really makes an impact. The quality and craftsmanship are outstanding, and it’s clearly built to last. We’ve received loads of positive feedback from both members and visitors. What an amazing place . Tony is the GM he has a great team of designers, manufacturers and fitters. They make things that stop pigeons, seagulls and crows landing on the roof and making terrible noises and mess very important to have this If you want anything stainless steel, this is the place to go . None slip steps for High Gardens anything outdoor and indoor.. They have a variety of designs, shapes and thickness of steel and quality stainless steel . When I arrived at the office, they had a beautiful stainless steel staircase really solid very well made . The quality of work is a very high standard .
